Misleading advertising of their so called free hosting service, they rejected to offer this even I have applied transfer of my domain to them. Worse, they continue to debit my credit card even after I have emailed them to stop. I had to go though along process to get a refund. I am still struggling to get refund for another domain.

This is a company to avoid in anyway.

I have run into the 60 day lock thing as well, right before my domain was to be renewed. After being forced to renew with doteasy or lose my domain name I waited the 60 days and again tried to have the domain transferred. I was forced to jump through numerous hoops as I'd renewed the domain within the last 6 months. They even demanded a photocopy of the front and back of the credit card used to renew the domain (they'd already processed a charge to it and shouldn't be charging anything to unlock the domain). I will be contacting the better business bureau to report these scam artists.

The 60-day lock thing just happened to me, as well. This is extremely unprofessional behavior and an obvious tactic to keep customers from transferring domains to other providers.

Customer service is obviously not a priority with Doteasy. I've had problems with them before and it was very difficult to get help.

Doteasy was fine until I tried to switch to another domain registry that was less expensive. I followed the directions on doteasy's site to unlock and transfer my domain. After following their directions, doteasy put a 60-day lock on my domain, forcing me to pay for another year of hosting with them.

I tried numerous times to reach customer service only to have my pleas to have my domain unlocked fall on deaf ears. When they finally returned my calls they were unhelpful, rude at times and refused to help me with my problem.

If you have a business like I do you cannot afford to deal with their brand of B.S.

DotEasy would have to be anything BUT easy. They are completely unprofessional, charge you $10 to transfer a domain name, and give absolutely no customer service. I would suggest people NOT use this service AT ALL, unless they are happy to hand out cash to an uncaring organisation that has no idea on how to treat people.

i agree that dreamhost does offering lots of hosting space. not they even giving 50gb solely for your files backup.

for the dreamhost control panel, its really not in my flavour. i found out their control panel browsing are very confusing. i sometime get lost, and cant even find the right path to go to phpmyadmin. it should be made available clearly.

first few months with dreamhost was great for me as well.. their server seem to be fast. but their service uptime really turn me down.

and talked about dreamhost unlimited domain and dreamhost addon domain.. i recalled that addon domain is not free. there is annual fee apply. quit expensive. i saw it before in their control panel, you should check on it as well.

$6-9/month is good what you get with dreamhost, a huge amount of space (expanding on the order of _hundreds_of_GB), unlimited hosted domains and subdomains for the monthly fee not to mention lots of application support and a mature control panel that allows you to actually control all aspects of your domains, hosting and databases. They don't try to trick you into staying with them or adding little charges at every turn. I've had at least as much problem with Doteasy uptime, that is to say actually, very little.

dreamhost is too expensive, unless you taking 3 or 5 years hosting plan from them. my hosting experience with dreamhost is bad so far.. dreamhost service uptime is very bad ... there are few months their service uptime fall below 99.0%. http://www.dreamhostreview.org/dreamhost/dreamhost-uptime

After five years of hosting and registering several domains and sites with Doteasy, i found another provider that met my more advanced needs at lower prices (Dreamhost). Doteasy was fine when i was just running a simple HTML site with a few extras with "free hosting" at $45/2 years. It was fine with slow customer service response, but hey, i wasn't paying much. Well, i went to transfer the domain to the new registrar right after receiving a renewal notice, and doteasy put up all these barriers, locking the domain without my knowledge or consent and allowing it to expire before they replied to my support requests, saying, "there's nothing we can do now, it expired, you need to renew it with us (pay $25 min.) or let it go blank for 40+ days before registering with your new provider, taking a chance someone else would snatch it up."! I am still in shock at their deceptive business practices and unwillingness to make adjustments for mistakes they made.
